Professor Mark S. Fox
Mark S. Fox is a Professor Emeritus of Industrial Engineering and Computer Science at the University of Toronto. He is the Director of the Urban Data Research Centre in the University of Toronto’s School of Cities, founding director of the Centre for Social Services Engineering, and head of the Enterprise Integration Laboratory. He was the Distinguished Professor of Urban Systems Engineering at the University of Toronto. He is a Fellow of the Association for the Advancement of Artificial Intelligence and the Institute for Electrical and Electronic Engineering. He is the editor of the ISO/IEC 5087 series of city data model standards, and author of the Common Impact Data Standard.
Dr. Megan Katsumi
Megan Katsumi is a Senior Research Associate at the University of Toronto’s School of Cities, working in the Urban Data Research Centre. She earned her PhD at the University of Toronto, where she developed formal methodologies for ontology development. Her subsequent work has focused on ontology-based standards and ontology applications in city data. Most recently, she has been engaged in research on the design and use of ontologies to support city digital twins.
Dr. Bart Gajderowicz
Bart Gajderowicz is a computer scientist and an Assistant
Professor at the School of Computing, College of Engineering, at Utah
State University. He is also an Adjunct Assistant Professor (status
only) at the Mechanical and Industrial Engineering Department (AI and
Information Engineering Group) and the Urban Data Research Centre,
School of Cities, University of Toronto. He holds a PhD in Industrial
Engineering from the University of Toronto, and BS and MS degrees in
Computer Science from the Toronto Metropolitan University. His
research integrates artificial intelligence, computational social
sciences, and knowledge representation, with a focus on modelling,
simulating, and evaluating complex social systems to support
sustainable communities and smart cities.
